What is the Power Savers Program?
- The Power Savers Program is an optional program for residential and small commercial electric customers who have eligible smart thermostats connected to their air conditioning.
- When summer temperatures climb, demand for electricity increases. The Power Savers Program is designed to help reduce high electricity—or peak—demand. Reducing peak demand can help control costs for all customers long term and reduce energy demand.
- Participants agree to brief, limited adjustments of their thermostats during peak electric demand periods from June 1 through October 31. Enrolled customers can anticipate at least one adjustment and a maximum of 20 adjustments per summer. Peak demand periods for adjustments typically occur on especially hot days. Adjustments will not occur on holidays. Adjustments of up to 4 degrees may occur on non-holidays between the hours of 1 – 10 pm PT and will last no longer than 4 hours.
- Participants will receive a $125 gift card per thermostat (for up to 2 thermostats) after being accepted into the program and a $60 gift card per thermostat (for up to 2 thermostats) each year for participating. Limited to two qualifying thermostats per household. Incentive(s) only available as an e-gift card. Incentive(s) cannot be applied as an LADWP bill credit.
